Our Mission

NG Career exists for one purpose: to connect Nigerians with legitimate scholarship opportunities and visa-sponsored jobs abroad while protecting them from the scams and misinformation that plague this space. We cut through the noise of fake “travel agents,” outdated deadline lists, and recycled content to deliver verified, actionable resources you can actually trust. Every scholarship we feature links to official university sources. Every job resource connects to legitimate platforms. We never charge fees, we never partner with questionable recruitment agencies, and we never publish information we cannot verify against primary sources.

The Problem We Solve

If you have ever searched for “scholarships for Nigerians” or “jobs abroad with visa sponsorship,” you know exactly what we are fighting against. The internet is flooded with websites copying the same outdated information from each other, scholarship listings with deadlines that passed months ago, and worst of all, scammers pretending to be recruitment agencies who charge desperate job seekers thousands of naira for “processing fees” before disappearing. According to reports from consumer protection advocates, Nigerians lose billions of naira annually to fake scholarship and employment schemes that promise guaranteed visas and jobs abroad. These scams prey on the legitimate desire of hardworking Nigerians to access better educational and career opportunities internationally. We built NG Career because we believe accurate information should be freely accessible, and because we have personally experienced the frustration and financial loss that comes from trusting the wrong sources.

Why I Started NG Career

My name is Babatunde Oladepo, and I started NG Career after my own frustrating experience navigating the scholarship and international job landscape as a Nigerian. In 2019, I spent nearly four months applying to what I thought were legitimate scholarship programs, only to discover that half the deadlines I was working toward had already passed. The websites I relied on were simply copying information from other websites without ever checking the original university sources. One program I applied to had actually been discontinued two years earlier, but it was still being listed on dozens of Nigerian “scholarship websites” as if it were active. The turning point came when I almost lost money to a “recruitment agency” that promised to secure me a job in Canada. They had a professional-looking website, testimonials that seemed genuine, and a process that felt legitimate. They asked for an initial “document verification fee” of fifty thousand naira, with promises of additional fees for “visa processing” and “employer liaison services.” Something felt wrong, so I decided to verify the company’s claims independently. I searched for the Canadian employers they claimed to work with and found no record of any partnership. I checked the Corporate Affairs Commission database and found the company had only been registered three months earlier. I reached out to others who had used similar services and discovered a pattern of people paying fees and never hearing back. That experience taught me two critical lessons. First, the information ecosystem around scholarships and jobs abroad for Nigerians is fundamentally broken, with too many websites prioritizing clicks over accuracy. Second, there is a massive need for a trustworthy resource that does the verification work that most job seekers do not have the time or expertise to do themselves. NG Career is my answer to both problems.

What Makes NG Career Different

We operate on principles that set us apart from the dozens of other websites covering similar topics. Our first principle is verification before publication. Every scholarship listing on NG Career is checked against the official university or funding body website before we publish. We confirm that the program still exists, that the deadline is current, that the eligibility criteria are accurate, and that the application link works. If we cannot verify something, we do not publish it, period. Our second principle is transparency about sources. When we write about a scholarship or job opportunity, we tell you exactly where the information came from. We link to official sources so you can verify everything yourself. We never ask you to simply trust us; we give you the tools to confirm what we are telling you. Our third principle is zero tolerance for fees. Legitimate scholarships do not require “processing fees” to apply. Legitimate employers do not charge job seekers for placement services. Any website or agent that asks you to pay money upfront to access scholarships or jobs is almost certainly running a scam. We will never charge you to access information on NG Career, and we will never partner with any organization that charges job seekers for placement. Our fourth principle is practical guidance over generic advice. We do not just tell you that a scholarship exists; we explain the application process step by step, highlight common mistakes that get applications rejected, and share insights from Nigerians who have successfully navigated these programs. Our content is designed to actually help you succeed, not just to attract clicks.

Our Content Standards

Every piece of content published on NG Career goes through a rigorous verification and quality process. We start with source verification, where we check every factual claim against official university, government, or employer websites. We do not rely on secondary sources or other aggregator websites. We go directly to the primary source. Next, we confirm deadline accuracy because scholarship and job deadlines change frequently, and publishing outdated deadlines wastes your time and damages your trust. We verify all deadlines against official program pages and update our content when deadlines change. We also focus on eligibility clarity because there is nothing more frustrating than spending hours on an application only to discover you were never eligible in the first place. We break down eligibility requirements in plain language so you know immediately whether a program is right for you. Finally, we provide practical guidance based on real experience. We do not just copy information from official websites; we add value by explaining the application process, sharing tips from successful applicants, and highlighting common pitfalls to avoid.

What We Cover

NG Career focuses on three main areas that matter most to Nigerians seeking international opportunities. In our scholarships abroad section, we cover fully funded scholarship programs in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Australia, and other destinations popular with Nigerian students. We track application deadlines, break down eligibility requirements, and provide step-by-step application guides. We focus primarily on fully funded opportunities that cover tuition, living expenses, and often travel costs, because we understand that financial constraints are the primary barrier for most Nigerian students. In our jobs abroad section, we cover visa-sponsored job opportunities, legitimate job search platforms, and guidance on identifying real employers versus scam operations. We explain work permit requirements for different countries, discuss industries with high demand for international workers, and provide practical advice on preparing applications that meet international standards. In our visa and immigration guides section, we provide detailed walkthroughs of student visa and work permit application processes. We explain document requirements, interview preparation, financial documentation, and common reasons for visa rejections. Our guides are based on official government sources and updated regularly to reflect policy changes.
